Please note that in the 2018 Census, where data are not provided, responses are sourced from administrative datasets, in line with the procedures developed by Statistics New Zealand to supplement the 2018 dataset. Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Campus South in 2018 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Accommodation and food services (189 people or 25.7%)
  • Retail trade (150 people or 20.4%)
  • Education and training (102 people or 13.9%)

In combination these three industries employed 441 people in total or 60.0% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Dunedin City employed 7.9% in Accommodation and food services; 10.0% in Retail trade; and 13.9% in Education and training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Campus South and Dunedin City were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in accommodation and food services (25.7% compared to 7.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (20.4% compared to 10.0%)
