Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Abbotsford in 2018 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (258 people or 16.0%)
  • Retail trade (180 people or 11.2%)
  • Health care and social assistance (177 people or 11.0%)

In combination these three industries employed 615 people in total or 38.2% of the employed resident population.

In comparison, Dunedin City employed 8.1% in Construction; 10.0% in Retail trade; and 13.7% in Health care and social assistance.
