Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Kew in 2018 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Education and training (147 people or 17.2%)
- Health care and social assistance (108 people or 12.6%)
- Construction (93 people or 10.9%)
In combination these three industries employed 348 people in total or 40.7% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Dunedin City employed 13.9% in Education and training; 13.7% in Health care and social assistance; and 8.1% in Construction.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Kew and Dunedin City were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed in education and training (17.2% compared to 13.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (10.9% compared to 8.1%)
