Analysis of the service age groups of Mahia in 2018 compared to Maungataniwha-Raupunga shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 24.5% of the male population was aged between 0 and 17, and 32.1% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 31.9% and 20.8% respectively for Maungataniwha-Raupunga.
