Analysis of the service age groups of Whakaki in 2018 compared to Hawke's Bay Region shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (0 to 17 years) and a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (60+ years).
Overall, 20.9% of the male population was aged between 0 and 17, and 27.0% were aged 60 years and over, compared with 26.0% and 23.4% respectively for Hawke's Bay Region.
