Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups of Wairoa in 2018 compared to Wairoa District shows that there was a similar proportion of females in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a similar proportion of females in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 22.9% of the female population was aged between 0 and 14, and 17.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 22.8% and 16.7% respectively for Wairoa District.
