Dominant groups
Analysis of the weekly housing rental payments of households in the Wairoa District compared to the Hawke's Bay Region shows that there was a smaller proportion of households paying high rental payments ($600 per week or more), and a larger proportion of households with low rental payments (less than $100 per week).
Overall, 0.6% of households were paying high rental payments, and 13.2% were paying low payments, compared with 3.2% and 9.4% respectively in the Hawke's Bay Region.
The major differences between the housing rental payments of the Wairoa District and the Hawke's Bay Region were:
- A larger percentage of $175 - $199 (16.1% compared to 4.3%)
- A larger percentage of $150 - $174 (16.8% compared to 5.0%)
