The size of Ruapehu District's labour force in 2018 was 6,633 persons, of which 1,431 were employed part-time and 4,719 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in Ruapehu District in 2018 compared to Manawatu-Wanganui Region shows that there was a similar proportion in employment, as well as a similar proportion unemployed.
