Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the workforce in Kāpiti Coast District in 2018 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (2,202 people or 13.1%)
  • Health care and social assistance (2,187 people or 13.0%)
  • Retail trade (2,031 people or 12.1%)

In combination these three industries employed 6,420 people in total or 38.2% of the workforce.

In comparison, Wellington Region employed 7.8% in Construction; 9.3% in Health care and social assistance; and 8.1% in Retail trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the workforce in the Kāpiti Coast District and Wellington Region were:
