Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Tainui in 2018 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (297 people or 25.9%)
- Managers (183 people or 16.0%)
- Technicians and trades workers (150 people or 13.1%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 630 people in total or 55.0% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, East Taieri employed 22.3% in Professionals; 19.7% in Managers; and 12.8% in Technicians and trades workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Tainui and East Taieri were:
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Professionals (25.9% compared to 22.3%)
- A larger percentage of persons employed as Community and personal service workers (12.6% compared to 9.5%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Clerical and administrative workers (10.2% compared to 14.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons employed as Managers (16.0% compared to 19.7%)
