Analysis of the household types in Dunedin City in 2018 compared to Royal Terrace shows that there was a higher proportion of one family households as well as a lower proportion of group households. Overall, 60.7% of total households were one family households, and 7.5% were group households, compared with 30.9% and 1.1% respectively for Royal Terrace.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of multi-family households. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 26.8% compared to 20.6% in Royal Terrace while the proportion of multi-family households was 1.5% compared to 1.1% in Royal Terrace.
