Dominant groups

Analysis of the household types in Dunedin City in 2018 compared to East Taieri shows that there was a lower proportion of one family households as well as a higher proportion of group households. Overall, 60.7% of total households were one family households, and 7.5% were group households, compared with 82.4% and 1.9% respectively for East Taieri.

There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a similar proportion of multi-family households. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 26.8% compared to 14.2% in East Taieri while the proportion of multi-family households was 1.5% compared to 1.9% in East Taieri.
