Dominant groups

Analysis of the family types in East Taieri in 2018 compared to Wakari shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a lower proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 46.4% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 6.3% were one-parent families, compared with 44.4% and 18.2% respectively for Wakari.

There were a higher proportion of couples without children in East Taieri, 47.3% compared to 37.5% in Wakari.
