Analysis of the ethnic population in Strath Taieri in 2018 compared to Mount Cargill shows that there was a larger proportion of people who identified themselves as European, a larger proportion of people who identified themselves as Maori and a similar proportion of people who identified themselves as Pacific Peoples.
Overall, 95.5% of the population identified themselves as European, 9.9% as Maori and 0.5% as Pacific Peoples, compared with 92.9%, 7.9% and 0.9% for Mount Cargill respectively.
