The size of the Dunedin City's labour force in 2018 was 68,424 persons, of which 17,940 were employed part-time and 45,888 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in the Dunedin City in 2018 compared to the Abbotsford shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 93.3% of the labour force was employed (60.0% of the population aged 15+), and 6.7% unemployed (4.3% of the population aged 15+), compared with 95.9% and 4.1% respectively for the Abbotsford.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in the Dunedin City in 2018 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (64.3%) compared with the Abbotsford (74.2%).
