Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates primarily from the late 1800s, with growth through the 1920s. Significant development occurred between the 1920s and 1940s, with further expansion from the late 1940s into the 1950s. The population fluctuated slightly between 1996 and 2006, due to small changes in dwelling stock and the average number of persons living in each dwelling. The population was relatively stable between 2006 and 2013.
