Settlement history

Colonial settlement of the area dates from the 1840s, with land used mainly for farming. Some growth took place in the early 1900s. Significant development did not occur until the 1960s, with rapid growth during the 1970s. The population increased substantially between 1996 and 2013 as new dwellings were added to the area.
