Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Whakaki in 2018 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Manufacturing (81 people or 26.2%)
  • Agriculture, forestry and fishing (75 people or 24.3%)
  • Construction (24 people or 7.8%)

In combination these three industries employed 180 people in total or 58.3% of the employed resident population.
