Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Wairoa in 2018 compared to Wairoa District shows that there was a lower proportion of persons earning a high income (those earning more than $70,000 per annum) and a higher proportion of low income persons (those earning less than $15,000 per annum).

Overall, 8.2% of the population earned a high income, and 29.0% earned a low income, compared with 9.6% and 27.8% respectively for Wairoa District.

The major differences between Wairoa's individual incomes and Wairoa District's individual incomes were:
