Clouston Park - Maidstone is bounded by the Hutt River in the north, Mangaroa Hill Road in the east, the locality of Mangaroa and Wallaceville Road in the south, and Lane Street, the railway line, Fergusson Drive, Arnot Avenue, Cecil Street and Charles Street in the west.

Settlement history

European settlement of the area dates from the mid 1800s, although population was minimal until the 1880s. Growth took place during the late 1800s, spurred by the opening of the railway line. Significant development occurred from the 1960s, aided by the establishment of the Dunlop Tyre Factory. Rapid growth took place during the 1970s and 1980s. The population declined slightly between 1996 and 2001, and then increased gradually between 2001 and 2013 as new dwellings were added to the area.
