Dominant groups

Analysis of the ethnic population in Ahipara in 2013 compared to the Far North District shows that there was a smaller proportion of people who identified themselves as European, a larger proportion of people who identified themselves as Māori and a similar proportion of people who identified themselves as Pacific Peoples.

Overall, 50.7% of the population identified themselves as European, 51.8% as Māori and 3.1% as Pacific Peoples, compared with 59.3%, 39.7% and 3.4% for the Far North District respectively.
